Wanna give a huge shout-out to my personal, special mamas (mama, mama-in-love, grand-mama, aunt-mamas, mama's friend-mamas, and teacher-mamas). I sure am one blessed woman to have you all. I love you and am super grateful for you. Thank you for investing in my life, loving me, and guiding me.
I wrote this last Mother's Day before the blog was up and running, so thought I'd share it again...on the blog.
Mothers – they come in all different shapes, sizes, ages, and circumstances. Whether they are young and unsure or old and wise, they are mothers. Whether they carried a baby for only six weeks or buried a grown child at fifty-three, they are mothers. Whether they raised one youngster or ten, they are mothers. Whether they enjoyed an empty nest or found themselves starting over with a new addition, they are mothers. Whether they experienced a hiccup in the womb or longed for a young blessing of their own but instead found themselves loving on nieces and nephews, they are mothers. Whether they are happily married or suddenly tossed into singleness while still feeding small mouths, they are mothers. Whether they open their hearts and homes to a dear one not of their blood or take up permanent residence in a prayer closet for a lost or struggling offspring, they are mothers. No matter the circumstance, I whole-heartedly believe if the Lord has placed that desire in one’s heart to nurture and love, that woman is a mother.
I am privileged to know some amazing mothers. Thank you ladies, for the example you are to me and the example you are to your kids. I promise, they see how hard you work for them and they know how much you love them. You have all been an encouragement to me on so many levels. So be encouraged today. Be celebrated today. God made you and you are beautiful!
Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing women out there who love children.
As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem. ~Isaiah 66:13
I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord. ~1 Samuel 1:27-28
Thanks for stopping by! ;)
