I'm going to be honestly raw here. (Not sure if that makes sense, but you get it. Ha!) We are in week 7 of this new normal and I am REALLY missing actually GOING to church, visiting and hugging on my SC family, hanging out with the best of friends, and the freedom to unpack my groceries without wiping down each item. The ugh of it all hits me pretty hard some days. There have been several mornings when my first thoughts are, "Here we go again. Why get up?"
Because I'm a slow learner ;), God has had to remind me a bazillion times to GO OUTSIDE! To look and marvel at His works. He has blessed us with the most beautiful weather during these weeks. After spending a few minutes in the middle of His creation, I truly feel so much better. Thankfulness grows and blooms with the sunshine and fresh air. I suddenly remember that I'm safe, that my isolating life doesn't come close to the definition of the word. I can still drive around, still play outside, and yes, can still even get my Chick-fil-a. Praise God! ;) This is no Anne Frank or Corrie Ten Boom situation. Praise God!!! Praise God!!! Praise God!!!
So instead of complaining, I want to hear from y'all. Tell me something positive, something awesome, something great that you are loving right now. I'll start:
*I'm COOKING!!! I know, right?! Close that gaping mouth and stop laughing. I said I was cooking. I didn't say it was any good. But, hey, gotta start somewhere. :)
*I have had the best time hanging out with my husband and daughters. We've ping-ponged it up so much that anyone of us can win on any given day. And we've even walked 13.1 miles to the grandparents' house on a whim, proving to the girls that Daddy and Mama can still hang! ;) As for movies - yep, we've watched plenty of those too.
*I'm also truly grateful for school. We've homeschooled for 7 years so the school portion of this isolation has remained smooth. It's actually been nice having this for the kids. It keeps them occupied.
*I live in an open space with enough room to chalk draw, roller blade, play basketball, cut the grass, and talk to kind neighbors at a 6-foot distance.
*And can I just say, I have absolutely loved seeing people outside, walking or playing. It brings me back to my childhood.
Now, your turn. Tell me what you're loving. And if you have a pic to go with it, share away. Remember, God is so very good all the time. Go outside! ;) <3
